Inside Line Promotions – WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (Aug. 21, 2018) – Seth Bergman captured his 12th top-five result of the season with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com last Saturday to pull within 59 points of the lead in the championship standings.

Bergman was strong throughout his debut at Hamilton County Speedway, where he opened the event by charging from seventh to third place in a heat race. That earned enough points to advance into the feature redraw. Unfortunately, Bergman pulled the third-highest number – six – to start the A Main on the outside of the third row.

“We had a good run in the heat and felt confident going into the main event,” he said. “Track position was pretty critical. Hamilton County is a big track where dirty air was a big disadvantage. We got up to fifth and challenged for fourth, but that cost us a position so we had to work hard to get back into fifth.”

Bergman capped the night with a fifth-place finish. He is tied for second among the ASCS National Tour competitors with a dozen top fives.

“Our goal was to win the race, but any time you can move forward in both a heat race and main event and come away with a top five it’s a positive,” he said. “We have some good notes to go off the next time we race there, too.”

Sunday’s ASCS National Tour event at Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Mo., rained out.

Bergman plans to return to action this Saturday at Heartland Park Topeka in Topeka, Kan., with the ASCS Red River Region and ASCS Warrior Region.
