Inside Line Promotions – LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (May 17, 2018) – Seth Bergman powered to his second Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com feature triumph of the season last Thursday at Lakeside Speedway, where he led the final six laps to garner the victory.

“We’re out here to win races so it’s definitely a feeling of accomplishment to stand atop the podium at the end of the night,” he said. “However, this sport can be very humbling so you never want to get too excited with your highs or too bummed by your lows.”

The win highlighted a busy week for Bergman, who kicked off three Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour races in four days a week ago Wednesday at Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan. He advanced from fifth to third place in a heat race, which was one spot shy of making the feature redraw. Bergman started the A Main on the inside of the fifth row and gained one position to finish eighth.

“We had a good start to the night in the heat race and were close to getting second place, which would have put us into the feature redraw,” he said. “That turned out to be critical because it was difficult to pass in the A Main because the track took rubber. We tried to race a smart race and take what we could get without using up our tires.”

Bergman ventured to Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., on Thursday. He won a heat race from the pole position to earn a spot into the feature redraw. Bergman pulled the No. 4 during the random redraw to start the 25-lap main event on the outside of the second row.

“We had a great race going on with the first few cars,” he said. “Sometimes in racing it’s better to be running second or third because you’re able to search around the track to find speed. As the leader you don’t want to change what you’re doing if you’re out front. The track began to take rubber and we found it before (leader) Tony Stewart. That allowed us to get by him for the win.”

Bergman charged by Tony Stewart on Lap 20 and pulled away for his third overall win this year. He also became the first multi-race winner with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour this season.

The weekend wrapped up on Saturday at I-30 Speedway, where Bergman maneuvered from fifth to second place during a heat race. That made him the high-points driver and garnered a spot into the feature redraw. He again got the No. 4 to start the main event fourth.

“We got right into third on the start and were racing for second when contact with another driver resulted in a DNF,” he said. “You never want to have a DNF, especially when you’re running toward the front and have a car capable of contending for a win.”

Bergman was unable to restart the race and he was credited with a 23rd-place finish. He is now tied a top the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour championship standings.

He is scheduled to compete this Friday at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla., and Saturday at Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla., with the ASCS Red River Region.
