Inside Line Promotions – SHAWNEE, Okla. (Nov. 7, 2017) – Seth Bergman is only 65 points out of fifth place in the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour championship standings entering the season finale this weekend in the desert.

Bergman will compete Thursday through Saturday at Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Ariz., where he was victorious in November 2016.

“I enjoy racing at Cocopah Speedway so it will be good to be back,” he said. “We’ve had a few good runs there throughout the years and we’re looking to end this season with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour on a positive note.”

Bergman also finished fifth at the track last year and he netted a fifth-place result there in 2013. He also ended 10th twice in 2012 as well as in 2014. Additionally, Bergman posted an eighth-place finish during the 2015 edition of the Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown.

“That’s usually a wide race track that can be pretty racy,” he said. “If you have your car right and can put yourself in the first few rows to start the main event you will have an opportunity to be a contender. It’d be huge for our team to pick up a win this weekend.”

Bergman is seeking his first Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour triumph of the year, which would give him a win in six straight seasons.

While Bergman has locked up a top-10 finish in the championship standings for the seventh consecutive year, if he can make up the 65 points this weekend and finish fifth in the standings it will mark his second career top-five result in the standings.

“We have a lot to race for this weekend,” he said. “We’ll go in there with the same mindset we take into every race. The goal is to win and I know our team is capable of accomplishing that feat.”
