Inside Line Promotions – SEDALIA, Mo. (Aug. 22, 2017) – Seth Bergman earned a trio of top-10 results last weekend during a hectic four-day span.

Bergman opened the action on Thursday at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla., during a rare non-wing sprint car start. He powered from sixth to third place in a USAC Southwest heat race, which lined him up ninth for the A Main. Bergman advanced a pair of positions before an electrical problem sent him to the pits early with a 19th-place result.

Bergman put the wings back on for Friday’s ASCS Gulf South Region show at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco, Texas, where he advanced from third to second place in a heat race. That moved him into the feature redraw, in which he pulled the No. 3 to start the main event third.

“It was a challenging track and we were in the middle of a great battle for the win,” he said. “All you want is to be in position to win. While we weren’t able to pull it off, it was a good result and we learned more about that track for the next time we race there.”

Bergman’s runner-up result propelled him to Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., on Saturday. He placed second in a heat race and started the main event on the outside of the fourth row.

“A rock hit my visor at the start of the race and broke it,” he said. “Not only was that a huge distraction, but I had to hold the visor on while racing the remainder of the race. I felt like we had a car capable of moving forward and competing for a win or at least a podium, but it was pretty difficult to even maintain the rest of the race.”

Bergman advanced a position to end with a seventh-place finish.

The weekend concluded on Sunday at Missouri State Fair Speedway, where Bergman captured a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour heat race to garner a spot in the feature redraw. He pulled the No. 5 to start the main event on the inside of the third row.

“It was pretty much a one-lane track so passing was at a premium,” he said. “We were able to get up to fourth at one point before ending fifth. Of course I’d rather we won, but to cap the weekend with a top five was a great points night for our team.”

Bergman advanced into a tie for fifth place in the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour championship standings. He is only six points out of fourth place heading into a doubleheader this Thursday at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., and Saturday at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn.
