Inside Line Promotions – ELMA, Wash. (July 5, 2017) – Seth Bergman bounced back from high pills draws to post a pair of top 10s last weekend during the Fred Brownfield Classic at Grays Harbor Raceway.

“Sometimes the draw works in your favor and sometimes it doesn’t,” he said. “It certainly didn’t do us any favors last weekend so it was nice to move forward in the A Main both nights. We aren’t happy just getting top 10s, but we did show progress each night.”

The Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour doubleheader kicked off on Friday when Bergman advanced from sixth to fourth place in a heat race. That locked him into the 14th starting position in the main event.

“Unfortunately, the track took rubber and there wasn’t much passing,” he said. “Everyone pretty much rode around and the only way you’d advance was when someone in front of you would make a mistake.”

Bergman picked up a handful of positions to finish ninth.

He returned to the 3/8-mile oval on Saturday for the event finale. Bergman again gained two spots in a heat race as he advanced from seventh to fifth place. That relegated him to a B Main, which he won to transfer into the 18th starting position for the A Main.

“We had two really good starts to the main event that were both called back,” he said. “We drove to 10th on the first attempt at the race, but two cars crashed. Then we picked up about six positions on the next start, but the caution came out again. The race just didn’t play out in our favor to vie for a top five.”

Bergman charged from 18th to a ninth-place result for the second straight night.

He will return to action this Friday and Saturday at Gallatin Speedway in Belgrade, Mont., for the Grizzly Nationals with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
