Inside Line Promotions – LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Nov. 3, 2015) – Seth Bergman was a contender until a broken front end ended his night early last Thursday during the 28th annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals.

Bergman had put together a strong start to his night and was running third during the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event at I-30 Speedway before the problem relegated him into the infield during the opening laps.

“We were one of the strongest cars there and I think we were the car to beat,” he said. “The track was pretty heavy and rough. I got the front end off the ground at one point and I think when it landed something broke in the front end. It shoved me toward an infield tire and when I hit that it spun me into the infield.”

Bergman was credited with a 22nd-place result following the early DNF, which was a frustrating finish to what had started out as a strong night.

Bergman charged from fifth to second place in both his heat race and qualifier. That ranked him third in overall points, which lined Bergman up on the inside of the second row for the main event.

“We were aggressive and passing cars in the heat and qualifier,” he said. “We had the car setup well and were moving forward every time we hit the track. I was about to do the same in the main event until a broken front end ruined the finish.”

The remainder of the Short Track Nationals was cancelled because of weather.

Bergman ended the season ranked fourth in the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour championship standings. He was second in series wins with four and third in top fives with 16.

Bergman will be off this weekend before his season ends Nov. 13-14 at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., for the USCS Fall Nationals with the USCS Series.
